The Location
La Locanda della Quercia Calante is a charming holiday farm located in the heart of Umbria. Surrounded by the countryside of Castel Giorgio (in the province of Terni, a small village 18 kilometers from Orvieto), it is right on the Tuscan border. Only hills and nature surround the property.
Locanda della Quercia Calante is an ideal spot for those who want a fully natural holiday, in an environmentally friendly atmosphere, with a relaxed feeling.
The property is surrounded by oak trees and century-old plants. It also includes a spring-water pool, a true privilege for Locanda della Quercia Calante guests. The natural lake-shaped pool is surrounded by volcanic rock and divided into three pools on different levels connected by a system of rocky waterfalls. There is a very large whirlpool situated in the middle of the three pools.
The rooms are simply furnished in typical Umbrian style, with terracotta floors, wooden ceiling beams and brick walls. Cooking classes, wine tasting and local excursions are offered and not to be missed!

Cuisine
The restaurant includes a beautiful hearth in the dining room. There is a delightful outdoor dining area as well. The cuisine is typical of Umbria and Tuscany, based on genuine products, fresh daily and 90% naturally grown on the Locanda della Quercia Calante farm. Meals can be both with meat or all vegetarian. The wine list is also carefully inspired by natural principles: quality wines from small local vineyards that maintain tradition, are kept in the Locanda's ancient wine cellar.
Meals at Quercia Calante are extraordinary, well-balanced and well planned by the owners, who take great care with their selection of ingredients.
Cooking classes & wine tasting are not to be missed!
